How we work

Leaving an imprint.

We often join organisations at moments of growth, change or opportunity. We invest in the people and systems around the work, accompany teams through difficult decisions, and challenge as a critical friend when useful. Our aim is to leave behind more than a strategy or a set of tools. We want the capability, habits and ways of working developed together to become part of how the organisation operates.

  1. 01

    Listen

We spend time with your team, ideally in your landscape, to understand your ambitions, constraints, culture and ways of working.

  2. 02

    Co create

We develop strategies, tools and systems together with your team, combining practical frameworks with the knowledge already inside the organisation. Everything is adapted to the reality of how your organisation works.

  3. 03

    Apply

We stay alongside the team as the work is put into practice, whether that is through planning cycles, management decisions, donor conversations, workshops, organisational change or moments of crisis. This is where tools are tested, new habits develop and the work becomes useful.

  4. 04

    Hand over

As the work becomes embedded, your team increasingly takes the lead. We step back, remaining available as a sounding board, critical friend or source of specialist support when useful.

Whether we work together for two months or two years, the aim is the same, to leave an organisation better equipped for what comes next.

What guides the way we work

Focus on what matters first

Organisations can rarely address every opportunity or gap at once. We start with what matters now, grounded in the realities of the organisation and its operating environment. As circumstances change, we adapt with you.

Build capacity for what comes next

We build on what is already strong, while introducing new skills, systems and ways of working where they are useful. The aim is for teams to be better prepared to respond to future challenges, changing realities and new opportunities.

People make systems work

Strong organisations need both good structures and people who believe in and use them. We invest in relationships and organisational culture, and we design around how teams actually work. We challenge when useful, stay behind the scenes when appropriate, and are happiest when the organisation owns the result.

Our toolkit

Over time, we have built a practical library of templates, guides and working tools that we adapt to each organisation. They are starting points, and continue to evolve through use.
